IV Infusion Therapy 101

At Suite Health, one of the most common questions we get from new patients is, "What is RX infusion therapy?" Simply put, infusion therapy involves administering medication directly into your bloodstream through an IV.

What is Specialty Infusion Therapy?

IV Therapy Johnstown, CO

Managing chronic health conditions can often create significant obstacles for patients, making even the simplest tasks challenging. Actions like swallowing, eating, drinking, and taking oral medications can become daunting. Furthermore, oral medications might be less effective as they have to pass through the digestive system. In such cases, infusion therapy can be a fantastic alternative. At our IV therapy center near Johnstown, CO, we're proud to provide infusion therapy for patients near Johnstown and the surrounding communities of Colorado.

Infusion therapy allows for the delivery of essential fluids and medications directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract entirely. Our facilities offer outpatient infusion therapy services, prioritizing both convenience and comfort for our patients.

This treatment method involves the use of IV medication, where medications or fluids are administered through a needle or catheter. A skilled provider will insert and secure the needle into a vein, which may result in a brief pinching sensation in the arm. Since the medication enters the bloodstream directly, it is absorbed quickly, leading to faster and more effective results compared to traditional oral medications.

Why Are More and More Patients Going to Infusion Therapy Centers near Johnstown, CO?

IV therapy has been around for quite some time, and its proven effectiveness and reliability have kept it prominently positioned in modern health care. This treatment's ability to provide immediate relief and tangible results makes it particularly appealing, especially for those who haven't had success with other methods of medication delivery. In Colorado, an increasing number of men and women are turning to IV infusion therapy as a way to feel better more quickly and take charge of their health in a practical and efficient manner.

Let's delve deeper into why this approach is gaining traction in the Centennial State and how it's helping individuals restore their health, boost their vitality, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Direct Delivery of Medication

One of the key reasons why IV infusion treatments have become increasingly popular in Colorado and across the United States is their ability to deliver immediate and noticeable results.

When you take supplements or medications orally, they must first pass through your digestive system, which takes time and is often ineffective. In contrast, IV therapy gets much-needed hydration and medications directly into your bloodstream. This direct delivery allows your body to absorb and use them much more quickly and effectively.

The speed and efficiency of infusion therapy make it particularly advantageous for individuals facing serious medical conditions, such as inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as psoriasis and others. Instead of waiting days or even weeks for oral treatments to take effect, many patients report feeling improvement within just a few hours. This rapid response makes IV therapy an invaluable option for managing daily symptoms that can otherwise disrupt everyday life.

Ultimately, this means less downtime and a greater ability to keep pace with the demands of daily living.

Consistent Hydration for Chronic Illnesses

One significant advantage of IV infusion therapy is its ability to enhance hydration and help balance essential minerals in the body. Individuals dealing with chronic conditions like kidney disease or gastrointestinal issues often find it challenging to maintain proper hydration. Through IV infusion therapy, the body receives the necessary fluids and minerals to effectively manage blood pressure, regulate body temperature, and support other crucial functions.

When you book an IV therapy appointment at our facility, you can rest easy knowing your treatment is fully personalized to you, not someone with the same conditions or body type

Outpatient RX Infusion Therapy vs. Hospital Infusion Facilities

When biologics first entered the market, physicians often had to refer their patients to hospital infusion facilities. These were the only places equipped with the necessary staff and technology to administer these complex medications.

However, many patients view hospital infusion centers as inconvenient and expensive. While these centers may have initially served as a crucial resource for those undergoing biologic treatments for chronic illnesses, the shortcomings of this delivery method have become increasingly evident over time.

Chronic Care Infusion Therapy Johnstown, CO

Issues with Hospital Infusion Centers

For many years, hospitals have been the only places to get intravenous medications. Patients must first secure a referral and prescription from their doctors and then schedule an appointment, which can take time in busy settings. Since not every hospital has an outpatient infusion center, some patients may need to travel long distances for treatment. This hospital experience can often feel overwhelming and uncomfortable for many

Typically, these infusion centers do little to boost patient morale, as they cater to numerous individuals at once, leaving little room for personalized care. Additionally, treatments can be quite expensive for both patients and their insurance providers.

Why an Infusion Therapy Center near Johnstown, CO Makes More Sense

For patients requiring regular infusion therapy, the experience can often be disheartening and inconvenient, especially when their only option is to visit a hospital for treatment. The emotional, physical, and financial strain can become overwhelming, leading some patients to forgo their necessary care. This ultimately hinders their access to essential treatments. In-office infusion suites offer an ideal solution to bridge this care gap, enabling patients like you to receive tailored disease management and achieve better health outcomes.

IV infusion centers like Suite Health give patients:

  • The same high-quality drugs offered at a hospital infusion center
  • A warm, inviting, familiar setting
  • A convenient location for IV infusion therapy
  • Tailored care
  • Tailored care
  • Shorter waiting times

With Northern Colorado continuing to grow and bring in more people, the thought of a second Costco for the Fort Collins area sounds very appealing. Many folks in Northern Colorado also love a great steak; a third Texas Roadhouse for the area would also bring excitement.

Johnstown's prosperity in the area east of I-25 along Highway 34 could be about to see another "boom," to go along with Scheel's and the other businesses, along with restaurants, that draw so many people. Having a Costco and a Texas Roadhouse out there would definitely bring even more; more people means more tax dollars and more prosperity for Johnstown. The town annexed that area back in 2000; 25+ years later, you can find many places to eat and shop in/around 2534. Will they be seeing Costco and Texas Roadhouse?

READ MORE: Get the Scoop on Johnstown's Ledge Rock Center

In early December of 2025, it was heard that developers would be bringing in a Costco, along with a Texas Roadhouse, to the area of Larimer Parkway and Ronald Regan Boulevard. If you're familiar with the US Bank location along Larimer Parkway, it was suggested the two would go in to the south of that bank, near the Union Street and Larimer Parkway intersection.

It goes without saying, that the Costco in Fort Collins gets very, very busy; having one just off of I-25 and Highway 34 would be very convenient for many. The same goes for Texas Roadhouse; I for one, am a big fan of Texas Roadhouse. A location just east of Loveland would see me there, quite often. Again, this is speculation; I've reached out the Johnstown Planning Department to see if they can confirm. As of this writing, there's been no word back.

UPDATE | 4:30 p.m. — Kaylee Russell has been found deceased. We have an updated story here.

WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Loved ones of a missing Colorado woman spent Thursday morning searching for the 20-year-old, who they described as a family-oriented sweetheart who would never go "off the radar."

Kaylee Russell, who lives in Evans, was last seen around 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 near the Loveland/Johnstown Park-N-Ride, according to a Dec. 2 endangered missing alert issued by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The parking lot is near Highway 402 and Interstate 25. CBI said that day that investigators were concerned for her safety.

On Thursday morning, Denver7 received a tip about a possible car in a body of water in the area where Russell disappeared. We went to the scene — which was near the Johnstown Ready Mix Plant — and found first responders searching the water. Around 11:30 a.m., crews began clearing the scene and the Weld County Sheriff's Office wrote on social media that "after dive and drone teams conducted a thorough search, no vehicle was found."

Denver7's Veronica Acosta spoke with some family friends that showed up at the mix plant to speak to them about the ongoing search for Russell.

Faith Campbell, a family friend, said the community search was the second of the week. She said the search party drove difference routes around where they believed Russell would have traveled.

"It was really icy Sunday night, so we're hoping that maybe she slid off and just needs help," Campbell said.

She told Denver7 that Russell had a flat tire, called her dad for help and he came out to replace it and then was helping her finish delivering packages. She then brought him back to his pickup, and he explained a route for her to follow. Investigators previously said that drop-off happened at the Park-n-Ride, and that she was headed to a friend's house afterward, but never showed up.

That was the last time anybody spoke to her, Campbell said.

Her phone stopped sharing data on Sunday evening, according to a GoFundMe.

The below image shows the car she was driving when she disappeared. It is a black 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan.

Anne Bauer, another family friend, said the search party had previously checked all of the routes Russell would have taken away from the parking lot.

"We just don't have any answers," Bauer said. "We don't have any leads. She is just gone, and we can't find anything. And so we're just hoping to get everybody out here, anybody that has resources to help us look. We just want to find her. We want some answers."

Campbell described Russell as very social, so it was unusual to not hear from her for so long.

"She's a sweetheart, totally super family-oriented, loves her friends and family," she continued. "Spends a lot of time with them. Her going off radar is not like her whatsoever. So, it's concerning... I think everyone's just kind of in a panic trying to find out where she is and get some kind of answers and hope that she's OK."

Campbell said Russell's brother had passed away a couple years ago, so not knowing where his sister is has been hard on the mother.

"They've had a pretty big tragedy in their life happen already, so seeing another one happen to them is heartbreaking," Campbell said.

"Let's bring her home," Bauer said. "That's the key thing."

The family has created a GoFundMe, which has been verified, to raise money for the search effort and support Russell's mother, who is unable to work while searching for her daughter.

The Town of Johnstown has received a finalized financial audit report of their local YMCA, one which raises concerns of how and where money was spent by the organization. The YMCA of Johnstown was built and paid for with cash from sales taxes in Johnstown. However, the town contracted with the "Y" to staff and upkeep the facility through 2031.

The town agreed to pay the YMCA up to $500,000 a year to offset any costs not covered by memberships. However, the amount in which the YMCA has been requesting of the town has continued to grow, according to council members, leading to questions about the money flow around the Johnstown Y.

CBS News Colorado obtained a copy of the financial audit, which was later presented to the community at a town hall meeting on Monday evening. The document unveiled alleged issues around where the money Johnstown provided was spent.

The organization tasked with completing the audit found what they described as "fluctuations in monthly financial statements."

Some of the issues with finances uncovered in the audit were written off as software coding errors by Y staff members.

However, the audit also found issues with money being overcharged to the town and also other concerns with money possibly spent outside of the Johnstown location's best interest.

One concern included the audit finding the YMCA owed Johnstown more than $27,000 for their child care program.

The financial audit also alleged that staff members or managers were using town funds to purchase alcohol, which is prohibited.

The audit unveiled that the YMCA shares a bank account for five different locations. Those include Johnstown, Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont and a YMCA camp. With all sharing one bank account, there were times where auditors couldn't determine if Johnstown YMCA funds were being used to pay for expenses at other facilities.

At one point, the audit reported that Johnstown YMCA funds were being used to pay for upgrades to the Boulder YMCA location. The audit reported that the YMCA staff claimed that was a coding error as well.

Auditors also reported hundreds of dollars in gift cards being purchased, which the YMCA told them was to encourage retention of staff members in Johnstown. However, there was no proof provided that the gift cards were ever distributed to staff in the Johnstown YMCA location.

The audit also reported that at least one manager was overpaid more than $30,000 recently. The audit found the manager was paid for the entire year, even though they were only on staff for a portion of the year.

A spokesperson for the Town of Johnstown declined to provide interview for this report until the findings could be presented and discussed by the council to the public.

The YMCA did not respond to CBS News Colorado's request for interview.

In a recent town hall meeting, the town manager suggested to the council that they have the right to terminate their contract with the YMCA if they choose. Residents told CBS News Colorado they were concerned by the issues arising from the financial audit.
