Tell us about yourself, your history and how you came to be where you are now.
With nearly 25 years in healthcare—from serving meals to residents in my local nursing home to becoming a senior leader at a major academic hospital—one mission has guided me: to make a meaningful difference in every patient’s experience and healthcare journey. I’ve witnessed both exceptional care and heartbreaking gaps, not just professionally but through the experiences of my family and friends. When the opportunity came to make an impact for outpatient infusion care, I jumped.
What are some of the biggest challenges facing your profession?
As a boutique, spa-like outpatient infusion center, our biggest challenge is the daily struggle of getting insurance companies to cover these much-needed treatments. We are both insurance-based and self-pay, so the constant change in payer policies and reimbursement is always challenging.
How have you innovated in your field?
In creating Suite Health, our goal was to change the way in which infusion care is provided. Oftentimes, it’s the smallest things that make a difference: a comfortable chair, heated blanket, comforting TV show or good snacks.
What is something in the wellness industry that you’d like to bring awareness to?
Choice. As patients and consumers of the healthcare system, you have a voice in where you receive your care. You can and should drive the conversation about where you want to go, regardless of the reason.
What are you passionate about, both personally and professionally?
Doing the right thing and being a good person. With all the chaos that unfolds daily in this world, all I can control is the person I am today. Do good, be good and good will return to you time and time again.
